Scrub in the Squadron

Okay, so from what I understand, to submit artwork here, or to become a legitimate artist on this site, you've got to submit your work to a Provisional Counsil of sorts? What's up with that? Yeah, sure I can understand wanting to weed out those with absolutely no skill, but that's kind of a hassle.

Am I misinformed?

Maybe one of the masters here can enlighten me, or at least accomodate me in the way of information, or a precise process.

There was a time when it was understood that being part of a guild meant that a certain degree of mastery was achieved. This isn't a photobucket, DeviantArt, or some other personal gallery site. So yeah, standards are a little more stringent. But from what I've noticed, you don't have to be a professional artist to be accepted. Take a look at what other members have in their galleries, and if you think your stuff is up to snuff, go ahead and submit!

But if you think the site's standards are stringent now, you should have seen it before its 'hiatus'. There's been more and more talk around here of making things more like DeviantArt, et al.

'Course, in the old days there was a SWAG community gallery, where literally anybody-- including guild non-members-- could post Star Wars pics. But I digress...

Ah, I see. And believe me I certainly understand the need to filter out some of the work tht does nothing but take up space. I have a DeviantArt account so I know exactly what you mean, I've just never seen that before and I was a bit confused. I believe you still do have a community gallery do you not?

Can't you just, you know, scrounge it?
