As I don't know any artist I could ask for something like this, I hope that maybe someone has interest in doing this request, though it is not related to Star Wars.
I started playing the RPG "Legend of the five Rings", which is set in a finctional world and plays in the country Rokugan, a kind of medieval-fantasy Japan.
In Rokugan there are several great and minor clans, which consist of samurai families.
These clans are named after animals, which represent their appearance and way of life most.
The clan my character belongs to is the badger clan. The family of the badger clan, the Ichiro, are typically broad and muscular, though not very tall. The badger apply the colors brown and black or in a previous version of the game pale grey with stripes of black and white(something I think looks better and fits more to the badger).
My character's name is Ichiro Tadashi. He is a 21 years old bushi(warrior). As it is a custom in Rokugan, he always wears the daisho - a katana and a wakizashi - as a symbol of his position in society. As a plus, he wears a light armor (so basically a samurai armor, which consists of lots of leather pads, with no or little metal reinforcements and his limbs are pretty much unprotected)over his kimono.
He has brown eyes, a short fullbeard and cuts his black hair pretty short(though not too short, so his scalp is still covered).
As he is a young, unexperienced samurai, who just recently left the school of an allied clan, he does not wear an armor and weapons of exceptional beauty, but they still should show, how much effort and time are invested even in "standard" samurai-equipment. Some idea could be to let flow in the animal of the clan in some way(for example as the hilt of the swords, or as the form of the helmet). But I leave it to the creativity of the artist.
I try to give a short summary of his background, though it may be a bit difficult to understand, without knowing the history of Rokugan and the clans.
He was born in the badger clan's center zone. The badger had been nearly wiped out, their home lain to waste, when a demonic creature, disguised as a badger samurai, raged in their territory. As a consequence, the surviving badger sought their fortune as mercenaries, so they could collect money and send it to their family, to support the rebuilding.
Without a own dojo to train him in, the clan had sent him to a dojo of another clan, by using their diplomatic contacts. Tadashi ended in the Akodo bushi school, a dojo of the lion clan, known for their military traditions. After finishing his basic training, Tadashi decided to help his own clan, by selling his service as a yojimbo(bodyguard) and mercenary.
At the moment, he is in a small village, on the occassion of a festival. There he hopes to find a new contract.
He shares the pessimistic nature of his kin and is a loner, who prefers to stick to his people, though he had learned that some people can be trusted.
Though he is a bitter, young man, he is brave and honorable, ready to charge into any fight, which may help a good cause.
When around strangers, he normally stays quiet or at least tries to say as litte as possible.
People he acknowledges as friends, often have to realize, that he even then stays quiet and has a sense for dry humor.
When stumbling upon other samurais breaches of behaviour, which is dictated in the bushido, he has no understanding for their failures and most likely will try to adequately punish them.
His loyal dog Isamu, an Akita Inu-like dog with black and white fur and a straight tail, is about 2 years old, has nearly a height of 40 inches and is loyal to Tadashi. He follows him everywhere - even into the midst of battle and if necessary into the abyss of hell.
