Iron Man (Spoiler Territory)

I just woke up after a full night's sleep after getting back from watching Iron Man.

The non-spoilery report I have of it is this:

Awesome armor suit porn. Each time whichever version of the suit appears, Hisham is a drooling mess on the theater floor. The Mandarin appears, but it's not what you think. Stane actually say "Iron Monger" but not in that context. Rhodey tells the grey Mark 2 suit and tells it, "Maybe later, baby." Everyone (Stark, Rhodey, Pepper, Stane, Yin Sen) shines. Even Stark's AI Jarvis and his little robot widgets.

But wait for when "Directed by Jon Favreau" appears in the end credits. That's where the money shot is.

Gah... how'd you get the sneak peek? I'm going tonight after work... the local comic book store bought out the theater for an early release for their "valued customers".

I do awesome things almost daily.
Saga Edition Dot Com

Released here on the 30th.

And I now suspect that the scene has been edited so it appears just as the end credits begin by local distributors (because they know the local audience are just plain lazy to wait to the very end). In the US, you might have to wait til after the end credits to see it.

I've just seen the movie and I have to say, it is all kinds of Awesome!! Great performances (the Dude abides) and the effects were almost entirely flawless.

Unfortunately, I didn't see after the end credits, I just couldn't convince my friends it was worth waiting since we were all hungry and it was already late. Looks like you got lucky Hish, you must have seen an edited version, the credits just kept rolling after Jon Favreau's name. But I've just spoiled myself (double checking I didn't miss a 'p' in there) and now know what I missed... and now I HAVE to see that film again, just for the after credits bit! Just as well it's a great frickin' movie that I'll happily sit through a second time! :)

Xanamiar

I already sat through it a second time... and I have to say.. well worth watching again...

((And I did stick around till the end of the credits both times, and it's well worth the wait.))

I watched it last night. GREAT flick. Stayed after the credits...but for me it wasn't worth the wait. I mean...you can summarize what happens in like 1 sentence. *I'D* be just as happy if someone told me that 1 sentence. But since not everyone thinks like me, I will refrain from posting it here.

Xanamiar

I loved seeing him at the end though. I also like that they gave the basic plotline for the next movie. It was well worth the wait for me to see him there :)

[SPOILERS!!] I know that Stark makes a cameo in the Incredible Hulk, but do we know yet whether that film takes place after Iron Man, timeline wise?[/SPOILERS]

I'm hoping the CGi effects in the Hulk get cleaned up some more before it's theatrical release. Like in the Iron Man trailers, some of the shots still look unfinished, hopefully like Iron Man, they'll be sorted when the final film comes out.

If you're having trouble seeing that site, here is basically what it said:

Iron Man took an estimated $104.2 million in the US and some $201 million worldwide. That's already over its $150 million budget and makes it the tenth biggest opening of all time. UPDATE: Actual figures now put the film at $197.6 million – $98.6 million of that in the US – but it remains the 10th highest opening ever.

Iron Man will fly again on April 30, 2010, exactly two years away after the first.

Matthew Vaughn's Thor has a release date of June 4, 2010. Thor will apparently get an introduction in Iron Man 2.

The First Avenger: Captain America has been dated for May 6, 2011. There's nobody currently attached to write the script, nor any director chosen (interestingly, Jon Favreau was offered the gig before choosing Iron Man). Empire suggest casting Will Smith.

Finally, with all the company's big guns getting their big screen outing, Marvel has decided to mash them all together for team-up movie The Avengers, out in July 2011. Whether the movie will feature just those who already have movies – Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Ant Man (Edgar Wright is still attached to the undated adaptation).

I can't imagine Edgar Wright directing a film without Simon Pegg or Nick Frost in some role. Pegg as Ant Man, that's gotta be cool!
