Excessive spam filtering

Hey y'all!

I really have to come out and say this - and by no means am I trying to be confrontational - but the spam filtering system... leaves much to be desired.

I know we don't want any spam creeping on to the pages, but the captcha text has become so unintelligible to me that roughly 1 in 5 messages gets through; lower case letters look like upper case letters, vice versa. Big transparent letters are capital letters - I guess - and the smaller ones are not... it's a nightmare! Worst of all, all subsequent attempts are blocked. I'm starting to feel cut off here, and a little bit closed off from the site... :(

I actually have had to resort to sending e-mails to give artists feedback/compliments for their artwork. I know we don't want spammers, but do we really have to persecute it to such an extent, that it chokes off reasonable posts?

I agree when I see the captcha.. but I don't see it very often, only when I make links, do I get the Captcha... perhaps there's a way to make it so all the known members never see the captcha...

But I don't know if Eclipse can do that or not.

I never did a captcha thing, so Im not the one to ask. I am having no promblems but i hope you can fix it

Yes, if you've got a link in your sig, the captcha will getcha everytime. I have one in mine, and each time I make a reply, I have to manually select and delete the sig so I won't get held up in the verification.
