Life's been pretty hectic leading up to graduation, and here I am....done after a five year tenure at the American Academy of Art!
Been busy with tons of conventions but now things are a little more laid back. What's new with me? Working on two entries to the TaTa Gala, a show raising money for breast cancer research (for more info or to donate visit tatagala.com).
Among the entries is a Jynxie piece! Yay!
I wanted to do this in watercolor, but am having some issues with a space to paint as I also have six commissions taking up my desk (and paper) atm. So I had to do this digitally.
I posted part of my process....by that I mean that I did a million sketches on tracing paper before hand of this.

PS
Wish us luck!
It's 9/9/10 and I added two more steps here.
One is of me pushing some colors out a little bit more, and a grey scale comp of the work. I find working in grey very helpful as it helps me to relate tonality better than color.

I LOVE it.

Haha Asok Would love it
Fabulous!
Kia kaha
What's that supposed to mean??
Boshuda
cuz you sometimes talk about "alien boobies"
sorry if you were offended.
Haha! You guys are lame!
But thanks for the compliments....this piece is about the boobies after all.
I am having some issues working digitally though. But working this in watercolor as of the moment is almost impossible with the other work I am doing.
Ohhhh, that black and white, looks cool!
I LOVE your style!!!
I didnt know you were in college, my sissy just went a couple weeks ago!
Yowzah!
Now my wife's not gonna let me visit THIS site anymore.
I already gotta be all ninja-like when I log onto deviantart:p
Nice work, btw.
LoL, thats the reason why I like it, its not exactly "PG" so its kinda rebellious, like Jynxie!
WoW i comment alot, maybe I should shut up now,
good idea Roz
Yeah, but once Eclipse sees it, it's gone :( ...
Because it's not what this site is for... but oh well... you have wonderful style Jynx, always did.
I regret nothing!

Hey guys, I'm adding another update to this picture. I had to put it on hold to work on a rush commission....that's a long story....but the deadline for this was pushed back to October 16th so I will still have time to submit it in.
Thanks for all the comments and in case Eclips sees it I am sorry, I forgot about the PG thing and this is for a charity event for breast cancer research. If anyone wants to donate or enter visit the tatagala.org
@ Rozali: I just graduated this August with my BFA in illustration. Thanks for the comment on my style, I've been struggling to pull it together consistently.
@ Judas: Haha, yeah, I get a lot of that!
@ Asok: Like Jynx says 'Shoot first, ask later!"
@Jynxie,
So, this is going to ramble a little bit, but stick with me ;-)
I appreciate the ask permission later approach, and really, I have very little issue with it... that said, other significant members of our guild have had issues in the past... I care about that, cause I don't want to see members forced into a situation with spouses, employers, etc. I can identify with Judas on this one. That being said, I'm also a bit concerned with the family friendly nature of the site. I don't want to come across as tyrant or anything, or a prude, I'm just trying to keep the site playing within the same demographic that Star Wars itself appeals to.
So... with that said, your art is beautiful, and I love it, but going forward, I think the right compromise here is to post a link elsewhere if possible. I noticed that you have a beautiful WIP on your own site of this: http://katguevara45.blogspot.com/2010/09/o-snipe-aka-process-of-jynxie-…
I've let certain things slide in the past, truthfully I totally missed this one the first time through. If we can all agree upon the above approach that'd be really awesome for me, cause I definitely want you to be able to share this sort of stuff, but I don't want to compromise the site here. :-(
Eclipse
No prob with me. I actually hadn't thought about the pg thing since I am so used to...well, art having things such as nudity involved in it.
Yeah, very common, but Star Wars is sort of a unique use case. ;-)
Thanks for helping me out here.
