Final Update: all done! Had a great time working on this and figuring out how to use Photoshop to paint.
.
Update to the Update: finished pencils with just a bit of clean-up to do.
.
Update: full-body WIP image, hopefully the head-tendrils are more obvious...
.
WIP for Sniped, here is me trying to figure out what a Feeorin & Clawdite look like when they are genetically spliced. I like where it's going, but Sniped, let me know if it looks like I'm headed in the wrong direction on the face details here. I have a pose and rough sketch underway as well, but he's currently faceless, pending approval of this facial structure.
Cheers,
Steve

I would just like to volunteer my opinion here and say: HOLY CRAP THAT IS AWESOME. I am really digging this face you've created!
Thanks Tusserk. The Clawdites have a really strange facial structure, so it was pretty challenging to try and combine it with the Feeorin and still have it be aesthetically pleasing.
I concur! Also, I am really digging the scars.

Sorry for the delay in the response. I love, love, love the look of him! When he's angry and pissed off, I would not want to be on the receiving end of that. I also really like the scars and the jowls on the bottom of the face. Really gives it a "created by the Sith feel". I think the only thing I would comment on is the tendrils. In the book that I have (Ultimate Alien Anthology) the Feeorin instead of hair have tendrils (and sorry if this common knowledge, I just know there is some differences in certain races & want to make sure there is no confusion). I would kind of like to see him have some of them, but maybe shortened or damaged, something that looks like it would be a result of some evil sith machinations. Otherwise, Tel'Va is looking amazing! I am so excited.
Ooooh... this is really cool...
Thanks for the input, Sniped (and for the positive feedback from the community in general). I was shooting for tendrils with the look I have going now, but I can see how they look hair-like in the way I have them drawn. I'll post the full-body-in-progress and please let me know if what I have is looking more to your satisfaction. If it doesn't look too odd, maybe I'll cut some of the tendrils short and cover them with some kind of decorative end-cap. Hmmm....
Oh! Oh! The new pose! It is awesome!

Very, very cool! I am so incredibly impressed with this picture, I'm going to have a hard time not showing it off to my group way too early. They are still a few sessions away from meeting this guy & I'm not sure that I want to wait! He is definitely looking like the way I had imagined.
I'm glad you're liking it, Sniped. So do you still want to do the cut-short tendrils? I can fiddle with the look, if you like, or I can proceed as the image stands now. Let me know...
I think the tendrils are fine, keep it up!
Oh man, this is fantastic! I just can't get over the design of this guy, especially his face. Can not wait to see this finished; Sniped must be absolutely stoked!!
I am! You have no idea how excited I am about it!
Pure awesome-tastic sweetness, man!
Love this piece, both for the humour & the style - I am digging the Alphonse Mucha vibe it's giving off :)oakley sunglasses
