Well, the Wife and I are leaving in aproximately 9.5 hours for Seoul Korea. I'll be gone for 2 weeks but I should have internet access the entire time I'm there, I'll just be existing on a 14 hour difference from normal. So post away, I'll approve as usual, I'll just be closer to OZ than usual. :-) It's been almost 2 years since we've seen family so this will be great. Have a great next 2 weeks folks, and I look forward to your submissions as always.
Eclipse
Hope you and your family a safe trip there and back.

Bon voyage, Kris and Kris' wife.

Have a great time Kris and a safe journey!
Too bad you are on the other side of Korea from me Eclipse.
Now if you were to be in Busan... I may have been able to meet you.
Slie Amos
Oh, Go to Bravo Mom's in Tokore village. Best (i can't spell) yakemando anywhere. It's due north from Soeul bout' halfway to the 38th. Enjoy your time.
I'm in Osan, and probably will be for a good chunk of the time we're here, so if anyone in the area (Slie) want's to get together, let me know, and we'll try to make plans. I'm largely at the mercy of other people for transportation, but whatever. :-) It'd be a shame to make it all the way across the pacific ocean and let a few miles of land stop a meeting. If you can swing it let me know. That goes for ANY SWAGGERS in Korea.
We travelled from about 2:00 am CST till 10:00 am CST the next day to get here, so I think that was 32 hours total. It was a rough trip but well worth it. I think I've already largely adjusted to the new time zone (which while getting sick was the bad part of the trip, being able to just crash and wake up on a new time zone has been the highlight).
I cut my hair super short before I came, and have been mistaken for American Military no less than 4 times at this point (two times were service men), so that's been entertaining as well. Anyway, I'm here, the trip was rough but good, and now I can enjoy the wonders of Korea. I wasn't adjusted enough to the food the last time I was here to make it worth while, but this time I think will be much more pleasant.
Eclipse
If you happen to be near the MASH 4077th, maybe Hawkeye and Trapper John can mix you a few drinks. HA HA.
Glad your trip is going well.
-LC :-)
Well Osan seems to be about a 5 hour bus ride from Jangyoo, next to KimheaSi, but I am seeing what I can figure out transportation wise. Though I still need to get paid, bloody bills and living expenses. :p
Eclipse, I will PM or e-mail you today(tonight) or tomorrow as soon as I get more info.
And yea it would be nice to meet up, and a few hundred miles should not stop that.
Well i need to get back to work. ^_^;
Oh L.C., I would love to have Hawkeye or Trapper mix a few for me... but I think we are 40 to 50 years too late. :p
Slie Amos
Slie,
If it works out, sweet. If not, maybe next time. :-) I'm hoping this will become more regular.
Eclipse
Yea, looks like it may work at...
I hope
Slie Amos
Frack it....
Looks like I can't get to Osan easily on short notice. There is no direct train and the bus schedule makes it hard as well. (I would have maybe an hour on Monday before I would have to head back as I work on Tuesday.)
And I was hoping to finally meet another SWAGer finally, well maybe next time.
Sorry Eclipse.
Slie Amos
It happens, family schedules would have made it interesting on my end too, so perhaps the next time I'm in Korea... I'll give you more notice. Have a good holiday man.
Eclipse
Kris, I didn't know you were Korean! Jeez...
And I thought "Vanderwater" was Dutch.
Boshuda
He's not Korean. He's Atlantean.

Hishgraphics: A View From The Tenth Freaking Floor
Asok,
I'm Atlantean, my wife is Korean. :-)
Just for reference, when Daniel Falconer and I first met he commented on how odd my last name was (as most people familiar with Dutch names do) and commented that its meaning made it sound more like my family was Atlantean than Dutch. :-) Just some fun trivia.
Eclipse
Kris... secretly the love child of Aqua Man and Namor... ssh. Secret.
Boshuda
Kris, I just saw a banner ad for KoreanCupid.com! Do you want to explain that to me??
Boshuda
Your not the only one Asok... I'm see'ing this KoreanCupid banner too! (and i'm from / in Canada)
Looks like SWAG's Google banners picked up on the IP range ala via Kris from on over in Korea :P Thats how some of these darned banners work now days. Kinda like how any website you goto that has banners for this and that, they'll be tailored to read as if they're from your city. Usually wherever the banner is hosted from, clever scripting picks up on your IP range as your browser makes the request for the banner image to be loaded. And bingo, you get friend-finder banners tailored to say theres singles available locally from your city.
In this case, the banners are a tailored set from google. Possibly since Kris is loggin in from Korea, google picked up on that and is tossing in Korean friend-finder services from Korea now :P Kris will probably have to trim google's banner services once he gets back.
On the bright side, at least theres no adult oriented banners floating around. A Korean dating service banner might make ya raise yer eyebrow, but an adult banner popping up is emergency damage control.
Core to the Quad baby!!!
It's because we've said the word "korea" so much on this post. When I posted about my dental work, we got vampire fangs and stuff, so...
I may block it, but I've been too lazy to do so yet. :-)
Eclipse
This could be fun though...messing with the auto- ads. Just decide what you want to see.....say it alot and bamm, your looking at ads for it.
Well then, we'd better behave ourselves and not start anything naughty ;-)
Core to the Quad baby!!!
Hisham and Drig have already started in the other thread. Drig started chanting a mail-order bride mantra, and Hisham apparently wants to summon a Yak-fur Love Couch.
Boshuda
BONSAI!!!!
Is this what happens while I'm away? Well I'm back now. After nearly 32 hours of travel I'm back state-side... still haven't made it home, ended up at my grandparents house in Arkansas, but will be home tomorrow I think. Good to be back, I think tomorrow I'll eat a grilled stuffed burrito.
Eclipse
GRILLED STUFFED BURRITO!!!

Hishgraphics: A View From The Tenth Freaking Floor
Grilled stuffed burritos are good.
