At a younger age Jay was taken with both comic books and Heavy Metal/Punk Rock music and album covers. This evolved into an appreciation for science fiction and high fantasy. Through his early years in college he majored in fine art/painting at a small liberal arts college in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1998 after deciding that art, craftsmanship and design were life long pursuits he applied for and was accepted to Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California. After graduation Jay began working in the motion/broadcast field in Los Angeles, working with clients like The Museum of Modern Art, MTV, Salon Selectives and AMC. After leaving Los Angeles he took a job in Seattle at Leonhardt:Fitch doing all things design related; motion graphics, environmental graphics, packaging, corporate identity, branding, web design and print design for clients like CTI, Safeco, Microsoft and IDX. Jay recently produced the latest packaging and branding for Microsoft’s Home Networking line of products. In his spare time he still enjoys science fiction, fantasy, comics, role-playing and his first love drawing.
