Free Trader 2 - Modular Hanger Deck Detail

Following on from the modular free trader design, details of a scabbed-on hanger deck for smaller ships such as landers and close-orbit vehicles.

Free Trader Concept 1

A design sketch for a generic free trader ship. While specific designs can be used on profitable bulk contracts, a free trader may need something theat can adapt. THis ship is basically a huge tug, all engines, a cockpit and living quarters. Cargo pods are simply plugged into the sides, allowing the ship to be quickly configured for a variety of loads. Imagine an 18-wheeler tractor that can pull a variety of trailers.

G-Suit Design

This is another request for help with the look of a character. The brief was a G-suit suitable for a fighter pilot, worn as a basic flight suit or an undersuit for a pressure suit or pilot's coveralls.

Combat Chassis

A drawing made way before Episode 1, I promise. The GM of a RPG that I was playing asked me for some character sketches of lightweight combat droids. Thw head was inspired by African tribal masks, with the techno-twist of a Japanimation style blade antenna (it has dipole arrays in it soe sence direction and range).

Kiowa Class Dropship - 3

the final version of the design replaces the compound-curve canopy with a flat-pane-and-frame version, which allows for armoured transparencies and a much stronger canopy. I'm still not sure which I prefer, but if you were building a full-size prop for a feature film then this would be easier (and much cheaper) to make. Of course, CG lets you do all sorts of clever shapes, but I still rather like the idea of a prop you can sit in.

Kiowa Class Dropship - 2

This second go at the design resolved a few important details, mainly the rake of the canopy frame. The original version was in the way of the ejector seat path-of-travel - a failure of the canopy jettison system would have resulted in the pilot hitting the frame - not a good idea.

Kiowa Dropship Cockpit Design - 1

This is the first of a series of sketches for the design of a cockpit for a troop dropship. This drawing is based on a very rough sketch that a fellow gamer gave me, asking for help in resolvign a few details. It quickly became apparent that there were a few problems with this first cut of the design. The next drawing was a much better go at it.

Voodni colony ship

Well, it's taken me forever to complete this one. Mostly cause I suck and shouldn't take requests anyway. (I've spent 5 years doing the clawcraft for myself so...) at any rate, Wolverine is a good guy, and waited very patiently on this one. I hope he likes the end product. Here was the request.

Side By Side Lightsabers

A side by side look at the lightsabers of Darth Drakhen and Darth Lau'Ren from the Great Sith Empire. Side by side in life and in death, Lady Lau'Ren was the lover and later wife of Lord Drakhen, during the Golden Age of the Sith.

They were presumably killed during the battle of Andar during the Sith Civil War.

Lau'Ren's Pillbox

This pillbox was given as a gift to Lady Lau'Ren by Darth Drakhen during the Golden Age of the Sith. A handcarved pillbox, commonly used for the carrying of Dohai, a mild narcotic favored among the ancient sith. Hand carved and inlaid with luma pearls, was never far from her reach during her lifetime.

Sith Fangpipe

During the Golden age, nobility often imbibed the Tabacc plant through pipes or Chibouks. Ornately carved and hand crafted, few of these pieces have survived the millenia. This particular example was the property of Arcturus Black, who could often be seen indulging in order to ease his mind. The Sith Civil war put an end to such idealistic customs.

The Sith Holocron of Darth Drakhen, a Sith Lord who lived during the Golden Age of the Sith Empire.

The Min's Wind

The Pirate Ship Min's Wind roams the edges of the Outer Rim toward the Unknown Regions. Also a lisensed privateering vessel for the Empire, The Min's Wind sports powerful sublight drives, a ragtag squadron of starfighter uglies, a multitude of turbolasers and tractor beams, and a bow mounted ion cannon capable of disabling ships twice its size.

This is a deckplan of the Modified Sentinel-class landing Craft "Siren", owned by Davin Ingram Kabak, Jedi Knight.

A deckplan for the Sentinel-class Landing Craft (in stock configuration). This deckplan is an original work, derived from the schematics in the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels. This is the only known 'official' source of orthographic (Top, Front, Left) drawings of the Sentinel.

Modified YT-1300

This is a Modified YT-1300 based on various blueprint designs that are floating around out there. I don't normally do vehicle designs so this was kind of an interesting experiment.

Tyr N'Darr Lightsaber Plaque Print

I figured it would be neat to take Tim's blueprint I worked on and put it into the same format and frame you find the official Master Replicas prints in. I remade the frame in photoshop and added my customized it with my print and made it look as authentic as possible, right down to the tiny metal plaque with Tyr N'Darr's lightsaber written in it.

Seeing that I will be attending Siggraph's 2005 conference at the LA Convention Center these next couple days, I wanted to make sure I had made considerable progress on my commission before leaving tommorow.

Civilian Aquaspeeder

After their tremendous success during the Civil War, Hydrospeare Corporation slowly switched to civilian products as their more militant clients began losing resources. This modification of the T-47 Airspeeder gained popularity in environments where swift travel both above and below the water was necessary. Unarmed and only lightly armored, the Aquaspeeder was a far cry from Hydrospeare's past innovations.
