Creature Request! Scary!

Hey, Swaggers!!!

I'm getting ready to run a game and I want to include a world devastated during the Clone Wars. Sort of a post-apocalyptic setting. The Players will ahve to go there, perhaps more than once, and there is a specific creature I want to include for their torment, er, uhm, enjoyment.

For those with a classical education, you will be generally familiar with the word "Morlock". These mutated human appear in HG Wells' "The Time Machine", not only the novel, but all three films.

I need a good pic of a Morlock, perhaps, even, more than one. Now, these aren't the Morlocks of the films, these are Morlocks I'm stealing from something another ref used on me many moons ago and scared the living crap out of me. Half was his artwork, which was dazzling. The rest was his ability to set the stage. Sadly, I've lost touch with the guy.

These Morlocks are about four, four and a half feet tall. They are muscular and sinewy.

Their bodies are covered in fur which is short and tight to the body, much like you'd see on a Labrador Retriever. They are typically dark brown, though other colors such as ginger and black are not uncommon. Hair on the head can hang down the back as much as a foot, but not in all individuals and sex doesn't matter for hair length. There is sufficient hair at each individual's groin to disguise sex and be appropriate for this forum.

Morlocks' bodies are slightly out of proportion to a human's, having shorter than normal legs (a 10% difference in typical human leg/body ratio) so thier arms, when let to dangle, give the illusion of 'knuckle-dragging'.

A Morlock's head is about the same size as a human's, proportionally to the body, but the brain case is a little smaller, again as a proportion. The eye sockets, however, are huge - three inches in diameter - these is a subterrenan species and it lacks the means of making artificial light. The iris of the eyes fills the visible area of the eyeball, like with a dog - the white is rarely seen.

mouth - the mouth protrudes a little, like a primitive human's - not as much as a chimp, but much more than a typical man's. There are pronounced incisors and even larger canines - this creature eats *meat*. The mouth itself *can* smile, and only does when anticipating a hunt/kill. Otherwise, it bears a fearsome scowl/sneer.

Hands - the last part of the description is the hands of the Morlock. They were, once, human-like. No more. Each finger ends in a one inch long claw. The claw is structured to be strong enough in it's bed to rip flesh. The morlock hunts in small groups, each member trying to get a hold of the victim with it's hands, hold on enough to get a bite, then pulling the victim down for the rest to join in.

Ideally, the image would have several individuals pictured. An alpha male, in the middle and dominating by posture and size, several beta males, and one or two females. The alpha female would be carrying either a young one or several bones with a good deal of meat on them - she controls who gets to eat after the alpha male. Females have human-like breasts, young are small versions of adults. Palm of the hand and bottom of the foot has no hair.

These creatures were human, once. They are feral and have lost all of human society's veneer in their fight to survive on a world turned hostile. They prey on anything other than each other and in lean times, will even violate that taboo to survive. The Alpha male chooses who lives and who dies, is the only one to mate, and gets the most food. He is a survival machine, like a great white shark, except that sharks don't feel emotions and a Morlock does. And the biggest emotion a Morlock feels is contempt and malice. These creatures, in order to survive, have become "savage evil" incarnate. They didn't choose this path, but it's the one they walk, nonetheless.

I hope someone gives this a shot!!!
