Gran Pilot

I'm not 100% satisfied with this one but I was fiddling with it too
much so I decided to walk away from it and get on to something new.
No reason at all to do this image other than it was one of many that
flooded my mind when I first discovered this site. It was originally
going to be a Dug Jedi - strange how things turn out. It was also
going to be a sombre introspective piece with the Gran actually
holding a Stormtrooper helmet and gazing at it whistfully. I decided
not to bother in the end.
The Image was drawn out and shaded in pencil and then scanned into
Photoshop where I proceeded to colour it using a colour and multiply
layer. Once it was finished, I further touched it up using a
combination of multiply, normal and screen brushes with pressure
opacity.

The background symbol was constructed in 3DS MAX and rendered out at
high res. Then the image was overlayed in Photoshop with various
layers of the same texture.
