I was going through some of the applications that have been approved, but the artists never came to the site to do anything.

I decided to send them an email, to let them know that they were approved to be part of the Guild Membership.

Also, I busted one rule Eclipse gave me, that's not messing with the guild applicants. I did this because even Eclipse voted yes, and there were 5 yes's on it.

n0x23 has been approved by me. If anyone thinks this shouldn't have been done, I want to apologize. However, considering his work, and the yes's by most if not all of the Guild Comittee, I thought it was about time.

I'm hoping maybe getting some new artists here, doing some requests will help inspire our band of trustworthy artists who have been here forever.

Hee hee, I'm not allowed to see what's behind that link! ;) Buuuut, I think that since Eclipse himself has given a 'yes', then you haven't stepped too far out of line??

And I'm totally in support of getting some new folk around the place, artists or otherwise! I know there's still a high ratio of requests that get ignored, but I do think that if more were made, then requests that sparked the right inspiration from the artists would happen more often... more art, more activity in general, more fun times...!

My request would be a Book Cover...

And here is what I have pictured... (But this isn't Star Wars related)

A picture of a woman, she's about 25 years of age, and has lived for over 500 years.

From 1500 - present

I was thinking maybe 5 forms of her, going from the dress of the 1500's 1600's 1700's 1800's 1900's and today...

All black and white, until you hit the 1900's which would be the closest to the front of the book.

She's only described as a woman who looks a lot like Audrey Hepburn. Beautiful woman, that never seems out of time. Her face never changes, just her clothing to match the times. Oh and Hair color for the one in color, is totally up to the artist, since she changes her hair and name every 10 - 30 years

If anyone want's to do it...

And here's a Link for the first part of her story.

I was discussing this with Dredwulf recently - the RPG isn't actively published anymore, is that correct? WotC dropped the license? We were talking about how with the rpg fading out, perhaps there are less people enthusiastically playing, thus less people out there using &/or discovering the glory of SWAG... and a diminishing amount of requests...

Still, it can't hurt to have more new artists join the ranks! I personally intend to get more active with SWAG this year, once I get some other art commitments out of the way.

Well, I've been making it a point to take out a lot of the ancient requests, to ensure that we don't have a bunch of pages of requests that no one want's to go through. It's discouraging to look through 6+ pages of requests, find something you like, do it, and the person that requested it never comes back to the site to say, "Thanks" or "good job" or anything.

So I've been deleteing anything that hits 2 years.

And the requests for art pieces has slowed down, but a lot of that is because the requesters were getting discouraged that there were no artists doing the work.. been to busy.

As proof of this.. Mercy has stayed continuously busy with private requests, because people know that she loves to just do them. And they usually don't have to wait all that long for them (Until Mercy got into Skyrim, and I think SW:TOR at this point but who can blame her?)

More artists we have the more requests we will have... and last I heard the SW RPG stuff was picked up by another company, I could be wrong here, but I remember seeing something about it.

For what it's worth,

Just because there isn't a company currently and actively publishing the SW RPG license at the moment, its not stopping people from actively roleplaying be it online forum or tabletop.

The West End Games D6 version is still popular, just as the WOTC's D20 RCR and SAGA editions are. Not to mention an alternative GURPS rules set.

Not to mention free-form / diceless style story-writing based forum roleplaying. (as well as could be friendly group get-togethers in someone's livingroom)

IMHO, there will always be a need for character art requests, as well as a gallery to host sw rpg oriented art submissions.

SW and SW Roleplaying will always be a favorite passion of mine, even if/when I don't have the time or dedication to play (as life sometimes happens to take priority). But the artwork? Its still my favorite hobby just to create character concepts and character art that I myself would love to play in a game someday (when I can spare a little bit of time and energy).

Lastly, to be able to upload the art here, for everyone else here to view and enjoy; and in turn appreciate everyone else's sw art, is perhaps the very heart of the swag community. Its the swag community spirit that makes it great always coming back here. :)
