Something a little different for an imaginative artist - Swoop Bikers [thelegendofjer]

Hello artists,

I would like to commission a simple black and white sketch of six swoop bike racers. It's going to be the centre piece for a new RP forum thread with a swoop track theme where individuals can bet on the outcome of races. They can either be six individual portraits floating on the page, or all posing together like a group photo. All, some, or none of their swoop bikes may feature as well, at the artist's discretion.

Rather than trying to describe the exact physical appearance and outfits of each of the six racers, I thought I'd describe them in general terms, as well as their personality, and give the artist an opportunity to draw whatever comes into their head from reading the description.

They are the six "main event" racers of a seedy underworld swoop track.

Sinya Toquema:

A tough, square-jawed, tomboyish twilek female who takes pride in the number of stereotypes she breaks. Her racing is as brash and abrasive as her personality. She is too belligerent and upfront to be very good at deception or underhanded tactics. Her bike is practical and well-worn. Her most hated rivals are Vexeeda and Awl.

The Amazing Kelvin:

An ageing by-the-book ex-military human male who's view of swoop track life is painfully over-romanticised. He is tall and amiable. His swoop bike is as garish and over-stated as his clothing. Every self-obsessed would-be poster-boy hero needs a dastardly rival, and Kelvin's is Awl.

Sparky

A skinny, worse-for-wear anthropomorphic droid who's original function is impossible to ascertain. He demeanour is ever so slightly upbeat, without being overtly optimistic. He tends to keep to himself to himself. His Swoop is minimalistic, lacking any flare and completely functional, as one would expect. His only rival is the racer immediately in front and behind of him.

Derby Black

A Bothan male criminal heavily involved in one of the local swoop gangs. He is flamboyant, irritating, and cavalier. His signature smile is jeering, but he has a sharp intellect. He will cut any corner and break any rule to win. He regards Vexeeda with gleeful contempt, but his true rivalry is with the spot-light stealing Kelvin.

Awl

A brutal, violent cathar who is rumoured to have once been a slaver. His bike is decorated with twisted scrap and grizzly trophies. He is motivated by only one thing...defeating his rivals. He holds special contempt for those he sees as second-class beings suitable only as sentient cattle, namely Sparky and Sinya.

Vexeeda

An cold, seductively elegant Rodian woman with expensive tastes. Her rivalries change as often as her mood - usually whoever beat or slighted her most recently is top of her list of enemies, but she harbours an old grudge against Derby Black. Her swoop bikes, like her wardrobe, are expensive and frequently change.

That's it!

Again, I'd prefer simple black-and-white sketches, but I'm easy. Things like flare, scars, etc. are open to your own interpretation.

Thanks,

Oslek

EDIT:

I've been told that there is an unwritten rule that a request should only have up to three characters...so if any of you are interested, just pick the three you like the sound of best, and I'll try to get the other three done separately.

Xanamiar

There's an unwritten rule ((Well, I think it's actually been written)) That any request on here have only 3 characters on a given picture. I'm not saying that someone can't take it, but it's not likely to be taken though, considering that it's a little to much for most of the artists.

Just thought I'd let you now, if you change it to two pictures of 3 characters each, then it's more likely to be picked up by someone.

Bwa.

Where are they, like what planet? Just wondering.. because all you said was "seedy underworld swoop track"––like in the bleak deserts of Tatooine or the industrial plains of Coruscant?

I LOVE this! I am absolutely taking it. and since the rule is "unwritten" I will definitely do all 6 characters. just be a bit patient :)

it's true that, as individuals, we can't change the world. but if we band together, and lock arms in a line, we can play "red rover, red rover." -nick decamp
