Predatory Dark Jedi Jawa! (You know you love the Jawa!) [thelegendofjer]

Hello! This character is for a mud I play, and it's for a future timeline, with that said, I don't want to step too much on artistic license.

The Character!

Aki'iz Mochok defends his tribe with all his skills, and will go to any lengths at all to protect the people he loves and the tribe that he calls home. That is, in fact, how he fell to the lure of the dark side. While stalking a Krayt Dragon to kill it in the usual way (lure it over a bunch of explosives), it attacked him first. Knowing that if he died, the Tuskens would overrun the warren and the sandcrawlers, he used the anger that those images caused to boost his strength and agility enough to arm the explosives and detonate them on the Krayt itself.

Later, after being picked up by the Jedi to train, he never lost his combatative, predatory mentality, the "kill the bad thing before it kills you" vibe. He was naturally gifted, but after training to the best of his ability, he again fell prey to the dark side while defending a group of unarmed villagers on an outpost world, and was outcast.

Aki'iz has not been taken over by the dark side fully, but he is invariably tainted with it (and might show some aspects of that taint.) and is prone to solving his problems with explosive and overwhelming violence. In spite of this taint, he still retains a moral code and uses all his darkest powers to serve the greater good of the community. The Jawa community first, of course, but everyone else is kind of a close second... (a la the Jenaasarai from the Michael Stackpole novel "I, Jedi")

Aki'iz, given his size and mentality, is a practitioner of Djem So, whose strong defense, sudden and intense aggression, and use of the force to enhance the user's strength appeal to him. (He is not, however, ONLY a Djem So practitioner, also being fairly skilled in Ataru, Niman, and their offshoot Jar'Kai.)

The Look:

I see him in a ready-stance of some kind, in half-armor half-robes vaguely reminiscent of the "General Obi-Wan Kenobi" stuff from the Clone Wars cartoons (in which he wears jedi robe bits over stormtrooper armor bits). I had thought that, given his background, he would still keep a lot of the Jawa pouches and paraphenalia, but it's possible he's left them behind (in order to better display his armor!). I have no preferences to color or design of lightsaber (although he could be using one or two, and they may or may not have curved hilts, or match.) or armor (except it needs to be heavy!), but I imagine his robes will probably be shredded or, at the very least, very badly worn. If there were to be a background, I could see him fighting a large Tatooine predator, or skulking through ancient ruins, or a cave, or standing out in the desert posing.

Okay, and yes, I know Jawa Jedi are a dime a dozen, but they're all cute and adorable, and none of them keep the sort of predatory and sinister vibe I'm looking for.

I don't know if you've already been browsing around, but I did a request similar to this a while ago. Just thought I'd throw that out there. :)

I've seen that one and several on Deviantart as well that would work for the character itself, the problem is that, Ideally, I want to put the picture up on a website (linking it back through to the artist's work of course) referring to the character, which brings up copyright issues.

Xanamiar

All pictures on this site are available for use, as long as the artist is given credit, and a link is made back to the pic on this site. No copywrite issues when you deal with SWAG...

So, if there are any on here that would work, feel free to use them... Just be sure to give credit where credit is due ((and make sure that you aren't making any money off of it, because if you are, you need to pay the artist))

Bwa.

Rozali, that's ONLY if YOU're making money, actual money, off the picture. I can't really think of an example...

Xanamiar

Rightfully if you are planning to make money off of a peice of art, you'd have to "Buy" that peice of art from the artist. So, if you just use someone's work, and make money off of it, then by all rights, they have the right to ask for part of the profit that you are making off of it. All images on SWAG are copywrited by the artists, and may be used for personal use. But they are not to be used for professional use at any time, without talking to the artist first, and either comming up with a price for the art, or an agreement with the artist.

If you are going to make money off a piece of art, and don't pay the artist, then in effect you have stolen their work.

it's true that, as individuals, we can't change the world. but if we band together, and lock arms in a line, we can play "red rover, red rover." -nick decamp
