I made a dorky video...

Hi!

So, I'm a huge dork that likes to take on projects that are WAY beyond my capabilities. XD When I discovered Windows Movie Maker on my computer, I got super excited, and decided I was going to make a storyboard of one of the plotlines in our SWRPG campaign. Then I got over excited and started making it more detailed than any storyboard/animatic should EVER be, and then I exhausted myself and created this thing that's ended up looking (in parts) like utterly horrendous animation.

Still, it was an absurdly fun exercise, and was very well received by the rest of the group, and now I've figured... what the hell, let's see whether or not it has any entertainment value BEYOND my RPG party! So I whacked it on YouTube.

I'm honestly not sure if 'what's going on' will make much sense to anyone else out there, but there's probably at least SOME background you'd need; mainly that my character, Tusserk Antilles (yeah yeah, I know! XD) was adopted as a kid by none other than the lovely Captain Antilles (hey, Organa's not the only one who's allowed to end up with a kid in the aftermath of Order 66!!). He had a lovely rich-kid upbringing on Alderaan, his best friend/on-and-off girlfriend was a bothan named Trys. Many years down the track, the folks at House Organa catch wind of a top secret Imperial special ops group being created, and they offer Tusserk the chance to be planted within the group (they basically buy his way in :P), as a sort of spy, and with the eventual goal of turning the group away from the Empire. Cue the beginning of our campaign! Because of the highly secretive nature of the operation, Tusserk isn't allowed to tell ANYONE where he's going or what he's doing; Trys is left behind on Alderaan, bewildered and in the dark. Oh the sadness.

Cue my video. XD I kind of tried to encapsulate the mixture of absurd and serious that makes our game so much fun. It's set to 'Starlight' by Muse (I swear, half our campaign is set to Muse songs. :P), and seriously, DON'T expect quality. XD

That is GREAT!!! :D

(and very poignant, too... *sniff*) :)

Aww, thanks!!! :D

Heh heh heh, I must admit one of the more gratifying things about sharing this with my party was getting a sniffle out of my tough-as-nails best mate, who played Trys while she was here visiting Australia before going home to the US. Serve her right for making me get all teary at the end of that session!!

Awww, thanks guys!!! The positive feedback makes me feel all warm and fuzzy under the scales. ;) It's great knowing there's people out there who can appreciate the creative outbursts of my geekier tendencies, haha.

And it tickles my creativity bone, too... I've been throwing around ideas for making another one... or two... or... yeah. But I've got to wait for a few story arcs to wrap themselves up, gosh darn it! (Though there's a part of me that also tries to remind the REST of me what it was like staring at frame after frame of stupid looking explosions at 11:00 at night, going WHY, WHY, WHYYYYYY!!?!)

I love my game, I do I do.
