Filling the gap...

Ok folks I have a couple more question, I hope I get as much feedback on this as on my last question so here goes...
In the SW universe there are gaps, between movies is what i'm talking about.. so which has the largest gap in time between movies?
What kinda stories would you like to see fill in these gaps (I know the books covered most gaps) and what kinda plot?
What happened to the prisoners captured in "A New Hope" epi 4 of the movie series? I mean when the Star Destroyer captures the Rebel Blockade Runner in the opening and the Stormtroopers blast away the first of the Rebel forces and we see Lord Vader we also see alot of captured Rebels (walking by with hands on their heads), and I assume any that survived the attack were captured. So where did they put the prisoners? What happened to them?

Oh yeah and when Lord Vader tells Luke he's his father and stretches out his hand and says together we can rule the galaxy... would you have taken his hand and ruled with your father? Lol... I'm just curious so I guess what I'm asking also is Jedi or Sith which would you have been.

The largest time gap between movies is between episodes III and IV ...

This gap is actually going to be partially filled by a new live action Star Wars TV series that has been being made for the past two years. The only information we have on it so far is .. "Think Bounty Hunter" ...

This time period is actually the most important one for me, to see the Jedi hunted down to extinction and see the dark times fall upon the galaxy. This is actually a time that is really close to any of us that grew up with the movies, because it truly seperates the two sequels in a large way.

As for EU, I have no knowledge. No cartoons, books, or fan fics have I read.
As for ruling with my father...ah..no! Ruling is great a burden. Smaller goals have I.
Now the big question, Sith or Jedi. Neither! Oh as a child I would have wanted to be a jedi. And as soon as the force was detected I would have been psyched to go. I would have held on for a few years before all the rules would havegotten to be a bit much. In my early teens I would have returned home never to return to the jedi way. I would have stayed home until I was able to join a military somewhere. These rules are easier to follow so I would stay for 10-15 years then get out and get a job. Bored with this life style, and being on the edge of poverty I would use my contacts to start a merc group. Small at first, I would travel. As we grew I would look for others like myself who had not completed training but not wanting to be evil, just started wondering. I would bring them To our headquarters and there they would be trained. Healers. worriors, scouts. As the Jedi life is hard and not for everyone, and most people are not pure evil, our expanded recruitement of force sensitives would net more and more over time.

Having a large military group of mostly Force sensitives, I would market toward the rich and powerful. Having your own army of force users would be a sign of power. Charging top dollar and gaining powerful and influential contacts I would start to recruit the top instructors from around the galaxy to train my forces. Soon my well trained and conected Military force would begin to raise concerns about the jedi claiming so many of the galaxies "gifted" youth. Not giving them any real choice. This effort would end after reaching an agreement with the jedi acadamy to give out brochures to those who do not make it, and to allow some of our ranks to be trained in a few of the jedi arts.

This " Grey Army ", now with state of the art equipment, specialized training in tactics, combat methods and force use, would now be a vast empire of Military for hire. And be a 3rd option for the force users of the galaxy. We would also aid in disaster relief and situations where a conflict of intrest would keep the jedi at bay. Our spy network along with buisness contacts would keep our finger on the pulse of the entire galaxy......Or something along those lines....I would hold my hand out to my father and say.." Join me as my puppet leader, and help me rule the galaxy from the shadows.."

Casca, lol that is really thought out... and funny so you'd rule the galaxy taking over slowly so as not to bring too much attention to fast... hmmm shades of Sith along with Jedi is a new way to go for force sensitives. Personally I would go with you as I like the way you put it.. lol. But I do lean more towards the Sith path, gaining knowledge and power, I'd take a planet and rule with my apprentice, BUT unlike the Sith I'd recruit and build an army (more like a SW Viking group) and what I conquerd I'd keep until I had more planets under my control, and then more star systems until the galaxy fell to my lightsaber and powers... or I'd just be a rogue force sensitive, a Jedi/Sith merc.

Okay, first off, the time period between Episode III and Episode IV is definitely the longest. Secondly, I really like the time periods of The Clone Wars and the time after Episode VI. Third and lastly, I would be Jedi, although I would probably get kicked out or something.

The 'Dark Times' definitely do hold a whole heap of interest for me... I just love the type of story that can come out of that kind of setting!

As for Jedi vs Sith... Jedi all the way, no question about it! Hah. I just hope like heck I wouldn't have ended up in the Order during the whole 'prequels' time period. Uggghh, the stuffiness!

I was always interested in the few years between each of the original films. The time between ANH and ESB is interesting, because I seem to know so little about it (I think there's a comic...?), and the time between ESB and ROTJ is awesome because of all the necessary developments we infer from the events of the films (also spawned probably the best SW novel ever!).
