Art tools

My birthday was just today and I recieved money for some art supplies, I was wondering what type of supplies would be best for someone who uses color pencils and prismocolor brand markers. I thought someone who has been around longer would have an idea.

Good paper! You'll have to experiment a bit to find what you like, but play around with various sketch pads or individual sheets- pencils on tinted paper is wonderful, especially if you have a lot of lighter shades (what brand of pencils do you use? I adore my prismacolours; it's amazing how stunning just three or four colours on a tinted page can look). Textures papers can be great to work on too, again it's just a matter of finding what you like. For the markers, I'd recommend looking for some bleedproof paper to play around on, and/or nice thick pages. When you're working with real media, what you're drawing ON is just as important as what you're drawing WITH!!

(I've never tried masking fluid with markers before, but have done with watercolours. Might also be worth a shot? Also some opaque white pens for adding hilights to any marker work. Or just treat yourself to fancy organisers/pencil cases/quality erasers/sharpeners... buying art supplies is so much fun!)
