I'm out of it for a little while and everyone's got delusions of grandure.
Or maybe not. I was an artist here four years back and then life got in the way as it typically does. I randomly got an email a little while back and I have found myself back here finally to see that things seemed to have died off. If that true? What is the state of SWAG these days?

No more dead than it's ever has been.. The email was sent out by me in an effort to get the artists who have never posted anything to come back to the site. Then another to remind everyone we are here.
Not dead, just living the same usual slow pace. But a LOT of images have been coming through lately, great pieces of work...
And most of us know who you are Lal :)

I don't fall under the category of 'most of us' I'm afraid... can't speak for things in comparison to how they 'used to be', but I love it around here! Sure it's one of the quieter communities out in the big ol' internet world, but it's a great one. Would love to see more stuff uploaded.
That is good to hear. Now that my life has regained some sanity, I think I can even do some work around here and show some new founded skills I picked up with 3D modeling :)
Things have definitely quieted down. I'm not sure if that's related to the loss of Wizard's Star Wars license or what, but I do know a lot of artists have gotten older and demands on their time have increased. Many are now professionals, with little to no time for this kind of leisure.
We've actually approved tons of artists in the last few years, but for whatever reason, the total number of artists that regularly upload remains small and devoted. I think this is the way SWAG has always been, and maybe will always be, save for the ebb and flow over time, which I think may be related to trends in the overall game industry.
Maybe when Fantasy Flight's new Star Wars games takes off, or when the new movies start coming to theaters, interest in Star Wars and RP and this site will swell again. But if not, that's fine, because we'll be here, drawing and playing and shooting the breeze.

Heya Lal-Khan. I still claim requests once in a while. Not a lot though. How's things with you?
Oh not too bad really. Surviving the mundane job. Settled down and bought a house in Texas. Have two kids now, boy and a girl. My girl's name is Mara Jade so I win at being the cool parent :)
I've been doing a lot of writing lately with the hopes of getting published one of these days. I work a little on artwork, though mostly I've been self teaching myself 3d modeling with 3ds Max.

LOL! Yeah, still got a little hibernation sickness as I remember how to work the website, but it's coming back to me quick enough.
