Holy shizz!

I logged on this morning on my tablet, and I thought maybe Kris had built a special mobile version of SWAG or summat. I guess the new SWAG is here!

More info can be found at: A New Day, A New SWAG

And I'm just going to sticky this for everyone else's benefit.

Yep, an all new SWAG with all new wonderful tools and other stuff.  Look for Eclipse to be posting a News about this in the near future.  ((If he hasn't while I"m typing this up))

Personally, I love the new look!

So glad you guy's are finding the profile picture...  It's nice to have new options...  Eclipse did a wonderful job.

Did we lose the search option in the move? Is it still in a box to be unpacked? Looking at a picture shows the Catigories it's under so I figure it's in here somewhere.

Xanamiar

The search is now done by categories I believe.

Also if you make your images a .png file, the system will round it out, like my picture.  200px X 200px

EDIT:  And I"ll write down a Search function as an option to be put in later. :)  I'm making a list.

Yeah, I tried to draw more attention to that help text that tells people to do that. Let me know if that's any more obvious or if I can do something to make it more obvious. I could always hijack the form and only allow pngs to be submitted but that looks like a non-trivial thing to do and I have bigger fish here. :-D

And a known issue..

The site looks better on Mozilla and Chrome than in IE ...   This is because of IE's coding differences.  It's on the back of a long list of things that don't need to be done, but may be done in the future.. Depending on how easy it is to do.

So I provided a big long detailed news post about this: A New Day, A New SWAG

Hopefully we can use that as our starting point for further conversation on this topic. With regard to IE I'm on a mac and have been for the past 7 years so I don't even bother testing it anymore. I'd heavily suggest people switch to a real browser like Firefox, Chrome or even Safari (which believe it or not you can get on WIndows...). IE's been the bane of web development for about a decade now. I'm not going to waste time on it. :-D

Hello everyone! I just wanted to officially say that I love the new look & functionality of SWAG, its really a nice refresher. I was hoping to see more character requests start pouring in after the release of Edge of The Empire [which I bought last summer, what a beautiful book], but its looking a bit sparse. We need to spread awareness of this great service back to the RPG playing masses! Nice to see a number of you doing really great work here in spite of that though! Tusserk, in particular, is an absolute art machine!

I've been lurking for a very long time now, since just before the update to the site happened [at least, I think I have - it is possible that I logged in and commented on a few outstanding works of art from time to time in the past several months]. I've kept in loose touch with a couple of members outside of here, mainly via twitter or deviantart, but I gotta say, I miss hanging out properly on here with you all. I feel quite terrible that I haven't had the time to devote to doing more SWAG artwork, many other projects have come along to pull me away from contributing here, but rarely a day goes by that I don't think about this place. Despite my obviously low level of contributions, I still intend to do more in the future. I have even broken my tradition of one new pic per year, I think - shameful!

So not only has the Force awakened, but also a massive horde of spambots... I'd been quietly waiting and watching for signs of life to return to SWAG but this is hardly what I had in mind.

Wipe them out, all of them!

Xanamiar

I take an innocent break from Swag ((unintentionally)) for a week, and they all come back.  Thanks to Eclipse they have all been killed.  And I'm back flamethrowing them before they get stuff up (most of the time) and deleting stuff that they do get up.
